It's a long road for a Mustache Man to go from birth to video stardom. It starts with Courtenay Hameister bringing the multitalented Alicia J. Rose, director of Cake's latest video, into the studio with her friend, Xan McCurdy, who plays guitar for Cake. And then John McCrea has to come up with the idea, and then Alicia has to reinterpret that idea, Xan has to sell that reinterpretation back to John, and then at some point, someone's gotta get a bunch of disco flooring, a badass car, and a nightclub full of mustaches. And then John McCrea has to come up with the idea, and then Alicia has to reinterpret that idea, Xan has to sell that reinterpretation back to John, and then at some point, someone's gotta get a bunch of disco flooring, a badass car, and a nightclub full of mustaches. Along the way, some of Portland's funniest people are picked up, Alicia details how she used to work with Courtenay on Live Wire and how that maybe didn't go so well, at least not as well her career as Miss Murgatroyd, Avant-Garde Accordionist, and Xan details how an opening gig for Nickelback led to the affirmation that Karma does, in fact exist. Plus a whole bunch of other stuff, too.
