Saxophonist Joshua Redman says performing as a duo with pianist Brad Mehldau creates a special level of artistry, as can be heard on their CD "Nearness." JazzCorner.com’s Jazz Perspective producer Reese Erlich talked with Redman about his background in Berkeley, California, why he chooses to play tenor or soprano sax, and his partnership with Mehldau.
